DIY Wedding Favor: Lavender Syrup at Personalized Bottles

We love the idea of gifting wedding guests with a favor that’s not just functional but unique and yummy too. Inspired by our newest Lovely Lavender spring wedding collection, we cooked up a wedding favor which appears very remarkable, but is super easy — lavender infused simple syrup. We adapted this recipe from Perpetually Chic and paired it with our personalized swing-top bottle. This syrup is ideal for adding to cocktails, lemonade, and tea, and we only realize that you and your wedding guests may delight in this sweet treat.

Here Is What you will need (for 4 bottles):

  • 4 tbs. Dried lavender buds
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1.5 cups water
  • Swing top glass bottles
  • Personalized drink labels
  • Purple food coloring (optional)

First, rinse the lavender buds with water to remove any debris and then bring the sugar, water, along with lavender to a boil in a small saucepan. Simmer for only a few minutes (before the sugar melts ), remove from heat, and let steep for thirty minutes. The syrup will look off-white at this time. To give it a lavender tint, add a tiny bit of food coloring (Hint: touch the end of a toothpick into the food coloring and add it to the syrup, a little bit goes a long way, and you could always add more, but you can not take away!) . Lastly, pressure the lavender buds outside and transfer the syrup to bottles. Add your customized labels and you are all set! Syrup can be refrigerated for up to a month.

Didn’t these turn out beautifully? We would love to know your thoughts on this particular project, so please feel free to leave us a comment below!
