There are so many fun ideas for hosting an elephant themed baby shower. From the decor to the recipes, we simply can’t get enough of this adorable trend! So today, we are sharing among our favorite snacks for an elephant themed event — chocolate covered peanut butter balls. As you probably already know, elephants are known to appreciate peanuts, also this sweet version is extra yummy. Here’s what you’ll want:
- 24 ounces (baking) white chocolate
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup peanut butter chips to get drizzle (optional)
Instructions:
Mix powdered sugar, peanut butter, and butter in a large bowl. Once blended into a dough-like texture, roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet that’s lined with parchment paper. Freeze the peanut butter balls for at least two hours. For the best results, freeze overnight.
In a microwave-safe bowlheat the white chocolate in intervals of 30 seconds and stir until fully melted and smooth. With a toothpick or other dunking instrument, dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, and then put back on parchment paper. Permit the chocolate to set.
Last, warm peanut butter chips in 30-second spans and stir until fully melted and smooth. Drizzle over the coating of tempered white chocolate and let it set. Serve with elephant themed napkins and much more!
