Pick a theme or color scheme

Whether you want to host a holiday party inspired by one of your favorite Christmas films, a colour scheme, or Christmas in your favourite city, selecting a theme is tremendously helpful for producing a menu, choosing decorations, and deciding on a dress code. The subject can be anything you like, so get creative! We hosted a cookie exchange party which was a massive hit and featured a mint, red, and white colour palette, twinkle lights, and of course lots of biscuits.

Straightforward Menu

For last minute meal prepping, we say grab some appetizer staples like cheese, crackers, and salami as well as plenty of bottled or canned beverages. Another excellent idea is to deem the party”potluck fashion”. This way, you’ll get tons of help with food preparation. In fact, you can only have to worry about an appetizer or two. Be sure to ask your guests exactly what they plan on attracting so you can grab any lost items. Don’t wish to ask visitors to cook? Head over to your regional deli or bakery to get some bite-sized goodies.

When it comes to preparing your celebration area last minute, just be concerned about cleaning up the primary rooms you know will be in use. (Typically, the entryway, kitchen, family room, and bathroom.)   When it comes to decorations, keep it easy! Some garland, ornaments, and stockings result in great decorations and we bet you already have some setup in your home. Even your Christmas tree with presents underneath counts. Want more? Shop for decorations, festive supplies, and much more that will ship next day and make it in time for your party.

Music

No need to dig out old records or CDs. If it comes to songs,  just hook your phone up to a speaker! There are plenty of playlists or stations to choose from via Spotify and Pandora. In addition, your guests may take turns playing audio of their own.
