Happy Leap Day from us to you! We love that we get an extra day of celebrating in 2016, but can’t help but believe how funny it is that February 29th just comes around every four decades. What’s this anyways? We did a little investigating to discover.
To put it plain and simple, we get an excess day in February every four years because of our solar system. A whole orbit of the Earth takes just 365.2422 days (although we tend to just say 365 times ). So so as to keep our clocks and calendars in sync with the seasons, we have an extra day included in February. We say make the most of the additional day this year by doing something you love! After all, what’s not to celebrate about an extra evening of fun!
