How To Throw A Last-Minute Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

Have you decided to throw a last-minute holiday party? No need to stress — we did exactly the same thing! So in honor of now being #ChristmasSweaterDay and also our last-minute ugly Christmas sweater party a week, we decided to share some of our quick tips about ways to create your final thought come to life! First off, rather than asking all to arrive at the party in a store-bought ugly sweater, we decided it would be a fantastic party action to have everyone create their own — only ask your guests to bring a sweater they don’t wear anymore. We set up a station filled with plenty of pleasure supplies and requested everybody to get a little tricky.

Fabric glue, rope, a needle and thread, hot glue and maybe even tape work perfect for anything you may want to stick on your sweater. And when it comes to embellishments, we state the tackier the better! Some last moment, easy-to-grab vases which people came up with were buttons, puffy paint, pom poms. Garland, googly eyes, bows, tinsel, bells, ribbon, cotton balls, sequins, glitter, and ornaments. Have a table set up with your things and let your guests go crazy! You are sure to find some totally awesome and ridiculous outcomes.

Once everyone has finished put on a mini fashion show to debut the sweaters, then have each player vote for the ugliest! Award the winner a horrible metal or some other prize!

We actually love how our Christmas ornaments came out, particularly with so little time to decorate! We used wrapping paper as table cloths and added garland, pinecones, and candy canes as table decoration. To earn a blank wall festive, we used string lights to outline the shape of your Christmas tree and then added ornaments and more garland. We also made a decision to put extra ornaments in vases alongside the utensils, napkins, and plates. These were incredibly easy projects!

And naturally, we needed some yummy food for everybody. To make it simple, we decided to purchase in from Buca di Beppo. The lasagna, sausage, spaghetti, and salads were delicious, and we did not even have to lift a finger! For desserts, we all walked across the street to our regional Safeway. Cooking for everybody is very good, but sometimes you must take it easy and purchase those last minute treats!

We also had a lot of fun playing with white elephant at our party and the best part about this game is that you can decide to bring new presents, or if you’re very short on time, ask everyone to bring something from around the home that they don’t work anymore for a few really tacky and funny surprises. It’s plenty of fun either way!
