Easy New Year’s Eve Party Decoration: DIY Paper Pinwheel Clocks

We’ve always been a little obsessed with paper pinwheel decorations. Their fun shapes, colors, and patterns include such a wow factor to any event, and today we’re here to share a simple way to turn paper pinwheels into an extra festive New Year’s Eve party decoration. Obviously, a huge part of New Year’s Eve is keeping your eye on the clock to get the countdown to midnight — so when we have the idea to make newspaper pinwheel clock decorationswe just knew we had to share! Check out how lovely and easy these are to create below.

Here Is What you’ll need:

  • Paper pinwheels
  • Number stickers (6, 3, 9, and 12)
  • Glue dots
  • Black construction paper
  • Black brad
  • Scissors
  • String
  • Paperclips

First, unfold your newspaper pinwheels so that they are in a circular shape. On the bottom of the pinwheel, fasten the silhouette by paperclipping the two ends together. Next, put in your number decals in the 3, 6, 9, and 12 spots. To make sure our stickers wouldn’t budge, we inserted glue dots to the back. For the clock hands, cut your desired contours using black construction paper. Keep in mind, the second hand is longer than the hour hand. Next, secure both hands together using a dark brad. Use adhesive dots to stick the palms (together with the brad) into the center of the pinwheel. Hang the pinwheel with string and you’re all set!
