Engagement season is here and we’re so excited to take part in all the parties! And to kick off the celebrations we shared this gorgeous image on our Instagram. We got a lot of positive feedback on the image and had lots of questions regarding where to find this mug. So today, we’re sharing how we generated this pretty DIY project! It’s so simple to make and such a cute way to show off your new ring. Continue reading to see how you can create your own!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- An easy cup on your colour of choice
- A sharpie in your colour of choice
- A pencil
- A printed out template of the term you need in your mug
First, select a mug in your favourite colour and print out the phrase you need on your mug to use as a guide. Next, lightly repeat the phrase onto your mug working with a pencil — which way it is easy to erase if needed. You can even use a pair of adhesive stencils if you do not need to free-hand. As soon as you’ve finished your outline, then trace over the pencil with your sharpie. (The sharpie must wash off with some scrubbing and warm water in case you don’t want to maintain the phrase on your own mug. You are able to test on the base of your own mug to make sure the sharpie is the right color and that it pops off. If you’d like your phrase to last on your mug, use a ceramic paint mark and follow the manufactures directions to set the paint.)
Continue to trace over the outline with your sharpie until the ribbon has your preferred depth and then leave it to dry. Don’t forget to draw an arrow that will point to a engagement ring! Now all that’s left to do is snap a selfie of your cup and fresh ring!
